User Roles & Permissions

Overview

CLEAR partners have defined roles within the console to ensure appropriate access and support for configuration, technical assistance, troubleshooting, and verification insights. Access permissions are restricted based on the assigned role to maintain security and efficiency. Below, you will find details about the roles, permissions, and their associated functionality.

Console User Roles

CLEAR offers and manages predefined, non-editable user roles to help partners get started. If needed, we can also create custom roles for your organization. Partners may also create custom roles. Users can be added, removed, or reassigned to a different role from the User Management tab in the console.

Predefined Roles:

  • Admin
  • Agent
  • Selfie Match Reviewer
  • Verification Checks Viewer
  • Verification Table Viewer
  • No Org-level Access

Notes:
*User & Gov ID Info (limited): Agents cannot view detailed checks like gov ID captures or selfie captures.

**All changes to project settings or configurations must be saved as drafts, and partners must contact CLEAR to review and push changes to production. This process ensures compliance with CLEAR's security standards.

Custom Roles:

Custom roles allow partners to customize user access by defining granular view and action permissions tailored to their operational needs. At this time, these custom roles will need to be created by one of our Solution Engineers.

Security and Auditing

All console interactions assignable to user roles are logged for security and audit purposes. This includes:

  • Data views and modifications by Admins and Agents.
  • Generation and usage of API keys.

This logging ensures transparency and accountability, supporting compliance with security standards.
